Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) and diet, food, supplements; Phytaphix founder, Dr. Kerley speaks

On October 9th, Dr. Kerley got the opportunity to speak to a group of ladies with
primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) about nutrition, foods and supplements

POI is also referred to as premature ovarian failure or POF

POI is a condition where there is total or partial loss of reproductive and hormonal function of the ovaries before age 40 and can occur as early as 10 years of age

POI typically affects ~1% of all females - which is not a small number!

POI can drastically reduce fertility and also also lead to menopausal symptoms

POI causes a drastic reduction in estrogen levels which leads to some symptoms similar to menopause:

  • Hot flashes & night sweats
  • Anger, depression or anxiety.
  • Trouble with focus or memory
  • Infertility

But also:

  • bone issues like osteoporosis
  • cardiovascular diseases

POI has nutritional implications, for example metabolic health, gut health, inflammation and oxidative stress

However, there is a lack of human research regarding POI...

But thankfully there is some research, including some very recent research, reporting that certain nutrition strategies, including certain foods foods, nutrients and supplements can improve POI symptoms and POI directly, including fertility rates!

Research has reported that crucial nutrients, vitamins and supplements for primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) include:

1. alpha lipoic acid

2. activated folic acid or 5-methyltetrahydrofolate

3. vitamin D3

4. zinc

These 4 crucial nutrients, vitamins and supplements for primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) are found in the optimal amount and formats in

Lipoic Acid Phix
